Clyde's Prime Rib Restaurant & Bar

Fabulous classic old-school restaurant. Prime rib was excellent as was the halibut. Great food, free parking, classic vibe.

Got 14 oz prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes. Prime rib was perfect, very tender very little chewing required. Cut was perfect for fat to meat ratio. French onion soup was good , could have used a bit more broth or croutons less time to soak up . Prices are reasonable for the quality of the meat . The grilled side vegetables could have used some more seasoning . Also got French dip and roast beef was just as tender and good. Nice portion sizes.

The food was good. The group called Bridge City Soul was playing. They weren't as good as they usually are. It seemed to be an off night for the singers. The band was good but the vibe was negative for the most part. I will return to see them again hopefully they will be better with a few new songs also

If you're looking for steak, look no further. Clyde's knows exactly what their doing with a fine piece of meat. I've tried steak in various places and at various prices from Oregon to Texas, to South Carolina. For the price and quality you just can't beat their Sunday prime rib special. The salads were superb. The French onion soup was fabulous. An excellent dining experience overall.

Great old school ambiance. Red leather style booths and very dark inside. We went for happy hour 3-6 daily. The happy hour food in the bar was great. Also reasonable prices. However the prices were a bit higher than what was posted on the website. Example, steak bites were $12 not $6. Pretty high for happy hour. But the creamed spinach dip with grilled bread was delicious fir $5. Chicken wings were $6 also delicious and crispy served with a salad. We'll be back when we're in the area.

Delicious surf & turf, fun atmosphere, good service! We didn't stay late enough for the live music but I've heard it's usually great too!

Very tasty old school steak house. Steaks are tasty and the staff was super good. They are worthy of checking out if you're in the area.

We came for date night and we were so happy we did. Great food, AMAZING service. The live music was a great addition to an already great experience. Definitely make reservations if you can. We made reservations for 9pm and I’m glad we did because it was absolutely packed. I DEFINITELY recommend this place! We will be back, for sure!

Wow, what a fun place. The live music kept people dancing all night. We even won some money on the pinball machine. There is a large parking lot for easy parking. One side is a restaurant, the other side is the music lounge and are separated by a fireplace. Food can also be gotten in the lounge.

We were visiting Portland for a long weekend and caught some jazz here on a Sunday night. It was so much fun, the local musicians made it feel like we were participating in an awesome jam session. The drinks were great and the atmosphere was like a nicely done club from back in the day. Go!

I love Clyde’s prime rib. In fact their staff and service is what makes me return despite the fact that their food is (somehow) even better. Terrance, one of the bar staff, is INCREDIBLE. He takes great care of us and always has such an amazing and positive attitude no matter how large the crowds may get. One millions cheers to Clyde’s! PS, it’s the best best damn French dip you’ve ever had. I promise.

This place has great food and drinks. I had crab cakes, prime rib bites for appetizers and for entree had the ribeye steak. Every bite of the food was delicious. To complement my meal with live music was fantastic. Going back to get my grub on soon.

Came in to celebrate... The service was fantastic.. The nostalgic vibe and the jazz music in the background made for a very classy atmosphere..... Angie was are waitress.. She was attentive but not annoying... (as some places can be)She made every stage of our meal enjoyable... The drinks was very tasty.. The Lobster and Steaks were all 3 prepared to our individual taste.... creme brulee was one of the top 5 I've had... Their Spanish Coffee has that extra flavor.. Hazelnut creme... 😋

First visit - overall rating...good experience. Attentive and welcoming. Comfortable dining room. Friendly server. Food good overall.

I had the seared Halibut which I thought was tasty, the Risotto was a little sticky but the flavor was good. My wife had the Prime Rib which we both felt could have used a little more flavor. The mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts were good also. The creme brulee was good and the chocolate brownie was spectacular

I actually have not had a juicy steak YET. But I am waiting for the drum roll to end. In the mean time I and a guest enjoyed happy hour. Tasty...

The food is incredible - unbelievable steak, fresh, delicious, seafood, crisp, tasty vegetables, and lovely, artisan bread. The wait staff is second-to-none - intuitive, friendly, knowledgeable, and understanding...Patricia is outstanding!The music (The Norman Sylvester Band) was cosmic! To hear them, visit Clyde's the last Friday of the month. You won't be disappointed!

The Family dined at Clyde's prime rib for mother's birthday... at a lovely table next to the fireplace.It was Sunday so prime rib was on special or I don't know what I would have eaten... I'm not a picky eater but nothing on the menu held an interest for me. Fortunately the prime rib was perfect..It came with a perfect baked potato and some of the best brussel sprouts I've ever eaten.The waitress was on top of her game... we were a table of seven...our stay was long... we had many requests and she never lost her smile... we had a delightful time.I gave this restaurant three Stars based on the diversity of the food and the Hefty price tag.

Such a chill vibe here. Definitely a hidden spot in Portland, if you know... You know. Live bad is always good and the food is great! The wings have a nice texture on the outside and juicy on the inside, spectacular!

I hadn't been there for at least 40 years. Great service and the food was delicious. Cocktails were good, but it took a long time to get the drinks. Very likely that I won't wait another 40 years to go back.

Clyde's is what once was a classic steak house. This is what a steak house used to be like. The ambiance, the service, the food, all done the way my grandparents would have expected it. It is amazing! I had the prime rib for dinner, with a slice of cheesecake for dessert. The only prime rib I've had that was better in recent years is the one I cooked at home. Clyde's has now become a must hit spot for me when I visit Portland. Only negative I have is there was not enough sauce on my cheesecake, but a 5 gallon bucket probably wouldn't have been enough ,it was that good.

Best prime rib for the price in Portland. It's served everyday, not just special occasions. The grade doneness in the old fashioned way. If you order rare, it is served with a cool red center.

We wanted to try someplace new for us on our anniversary and decided on Clyde's. The hostess was able to confirm last minute reservations while we were still in our way through Beaverton. We arrived a wee bit early and popped into the bar for a drink. Bartender knew what he was doing and it showed in the level of service. Wait staff was excellent. The meal itself was, just simply, wow. Prime rib done perfectly and paired beautifully with brussels sprouts and mash.

New favorite bar in Portland. Ordered , green house salad, fried chicken sandwich, prime rib bites, artichoke dip , old fashioned and a Moscow mule. All of it great but the house salads were there best we have ever had. Cant wait to come back.

Excellent food, not too expensive. It was a very nice setting and the staff incredible. I highly recommend! Go check it out if you've never been. Loved the prime rib and live music. P.S. try the wedge salad lol

Stopped in on a whim, on Sunday evening - dining room was very busy, so with no reservations we grabbed a booth in the charming lounge area. Sunday means substantial discounts on the prime rib meals for which this place is named, so turned out to be a smart choice. Dimly lit, retro-chic goodness. Food was fantastic, especially the brussels sprouts, which was unexpected. The enormous wedge salad was also elevated by a delicious horseradish dressing.

Relatively cheap as prime rib go. Meat a little bit more chewy than what i am used to for a prime rib and doesn't taste as sweet as im used to, a little bit too much seasoning on the grilled area. Has separate lounge and dinning area. Live music in the lounge area (free sitting).

Old school steak house! Excellent customer service means friendly greeting from host at podium when entering, seated within 5 minutes, water and menus next, info. and servise explanations from waitress, ordering, and starter, main course to follow. Everything went smoothly, efficiently. Very clear that this is veteran staff with nice chemistry, professional. Meat cooked perfectly to order....no messing around here...probably the same since 1957. And that's fine.....fairly priced for portions, quality.....I will return!

This restaurant is a staple when my in laws come to town. I don't know what sort of magic they sprinkle on their house salad but it is a must when we go... it has sunflower seeds, beets and an amazing horseradish green goddess type dressing that is absolute heaven! Their prime rib is scrumptious and I love their fish and chips... staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is medieval themed and very comfortable.

I needed a big prime rib. Had no reservation. Plenty of seating in the bar. Food came fast. Had chowdah, salad w/blue cheese, baked pot and one ginormous whack of medium rare prime rib. When we left I saw all tables were full and a 12 person van was unloading. What I didn't see were any man buns, skinny jeans or tapas plates. This place is the real deal for real folks.

Great prime rib for a good price. Creamed spinach and mushrooms are also excellent. I have only had the prime rib as an entree so can't speak to anything else. While not cheap eating is definitely a good price for a high quality steak. They have live entertainment in the lounge area as well. Very fun. Lounge can be quite loud at times.
